“Suzie” Corrock’s parents Jack and Lila Corrock built the Alpine Inn at Crystal Mountain. The Corrocks bought the very first lot in Gold Hill from Ward Meeks, and in 1967 they built their resort home. All of the Corrock kids, Kenny, Susie, and Anne, became accomplished ski racers. Susie made her World Cup debut in January 1970 at age 18. Two years later she won the bronze medal in downhill at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan. Susie competed on the World Cup circuit for four seasons, retiring after the 1973 season.
